Since 2007, the project “Deutsche Wortfeldetymologie in europäischem Kontext – Der Mensch in Natur und Kultur” (DWEE) has been in progress at the Sächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften in Leipzig. In this project, German nouns that relate to human beings, from Old High German to present-day language, are analysed semantically and etymologically.
The printed volumes include some thoughts on the methodological basis of the project and initial exemplary evaluations of the semantic fields that were investigated.
