This book is aimed at anyone interested in music therapy with the elderly. It describes a music therapy encounter between two people - representatives of two different generations, genders, nations and cultures - two people who have found their way in a country that is foreign to them. In three parts, concepts such as being old and foreign, retirement homes and dementia, home and migration are presented in a slightly different way than usual. Music is the constant companion. In a moving and fascinating way, the book shows how music therapy can be used in the last phase of human life. Music therapy overcomes alienation on various levels. Ivan Milushev Ivanov
geb. in Bulgarien. Nach dem Besuch des Musikgymnasiums in Stara Zagora studierte er an der Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik in Sofia. Als Komponist, Musikpädagoge, Pianist und Akkordeonist kam er 2001 nach Deutschland und studierte an der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität in Münster Musiktherapie. Er arbeitet in Frankfurt als Dipl.-Musiktherapeut mit alten und demenziell erkrankten Menschen unterschiedlicher Herkunft.
